This one is vertical: a narrow batten runs straight up the wall and crosses three shelves, in front of them, with the same gap between each. Above and below, the batten carries on past the last shelf — that overrun is what gives it its shape and sets it apart from three shelves nailed up in a row.

Each shelf is a 50 cm board with its ends turned up, a low lip that holds things in place without closing off the view. The front stays open, so what you put there reads from across the room.

A metre and two tall by 50 wide — it takes wall in height and almost none in width, which makes it useful where nothing else fits: a narrow corridor, the stretch of wall between a door and a corner.

Solid bamboo with a natural finish. Weighs 4 kg.

Care: wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products and prolonged damp.
