It's not a shallow tray: it has two tiers occupying the area of just one. Forty-two by twenty-three centimetres of counter space provides two levels of visible storage — and that's what makes it useful in a small kitchen or on an entryway console.

On top, what you use every day: fruit, wrapped bread, spice jars. On the bottom, what you want close at hand but out of the way — cloths, small bowls, keys and mail for an entryway.

The baskets are made of hand-woven water hyacinth, a fibre that grows in water, dries to a straw tone, and provides the irregular texture you see up close. Against the black metal frame, the contrast is the design of the piece.

At 43.5 cm high, it stands just above a wine bottle. It arrives unassembled and can be put together in minutes, without special tools.

A decorative and storage item: for unpackaged food, use a bowl or cloth over the fibre.
